1. Decide on your domain name, this is your URL (bobs-diner.com, yourcompany.com). Try to keep the domain short and concise, use either your business name its self or use verbage from your niche or product you offer. For example if your company was Bestkars, and you sold automotive vehicles your domains could be: bestkars-automotive, thebestkars.com, bestkarsaround.com etc. Try and use your company or what someone would be searching for, think in terms of what someone who has never heard your company or service before, try and convey that in your domain name if possible and keep it short! Don’t worry if it cant be creative and fancy, just your company name works great too. Now that you have a few nice names in mind, you want to own this domain for your company or self, and you can own it at a yearly rate which varys depending on your domain (.com, .info, .net etc.) usually costing about $8 a year.
2. After you have considered a domain, you need to purchase hosting-this is where all the files are stored, the domain you selected and purchase simply points to your host, which has your files to display. I recommended the below host, i’ve used GoDaddy, Lunarpages and many other competitors, and Hostgator hast had the best speeds, prices, and fastest support. You can easily buy your domain and hosting below, for ~$5 a month(hosting) and $~8 a year (domain)
3. Once you have both of these services purchased, forward me the Login and passwords for both your Hosting provider and Domain service provider, if you followed my directions that means find your emails from HostGator. Once you have emailed me this information, i will start the setup of your site into a ‘coming soon’ page. Then I will set up a design for you-at that point we begin filling the site with content, this is information about your company or service. Email: yourconnection@rightsidecreative.net
